CEF-4x is a rack-mounted industrial PC with features and appearance that are easily adjusted according to customer's requirements. Its 4U casing (177 mm) can be fitted with a normal passive motherboard and an ATX motherboard or an UltraSparc motherboard by Sun Microsystems.

The casing holds three hard disk slots with patented shock absorption system which protects the hard disks against blows of up to 100G. CEF-4x can also be equipped with an SSD which has no moving parts and is protected against blows of up to 1500G.

An independent monitoring unit monitors the temperature and operating conditions of the device and, when necessary, alerts the operator. The EMC-tight casing protects the components inside the device from electromagnetic disturbances.

CEF-4x is equipped with an efficient overpressurising filter system which allows only clean, filtered air to enter, thus preventing dust from accumulating inside the computer. Maintaining the filter system is easy as changing the filter requires no tools.

CEF-4x can be easily customised to meet the specific requirements of the customer. In addition to three 3.5" shock absorbent hard disk slots, the casing can fit two 5.25" mass storage devices. There are several processor choices, from Intel Celeron all the way to Intel Xeon. Excellent expandability is ensured by up to six long expansion slots or up to seven short expansion slots depending on the motherboard model.
