CEF-2x is a compact rack-mounted industrial PC with features and appearance that are easily adjusted according to customer's requirements. Due to its small size (88 mm (2U) height and 379 mm depth), CEF-2x is easy to install in small spaces and the installation of multiple industrial PCs into one 19" standard rack is possible.

Despite its small size, the device contains two 3.5" hard disk slots with a patented shock absorption system which protects the hard disks against blows of up to 100G. CEF-2x can also be equipped with an SSD which has no moving parts and is protected against blows of up to 1500G. The device also has a slot for a slimline CD/DVD-ROM/RW drive.

The independent monitoring unit monitors the temperature and operating conditions of the device and, when necessary, alerts the operator. The EMC-tight casing protects the components inside the device from electromagnetic disturbances.

CEF-2x is equipped with an efficient overpressurising filter system that allows only clean, filtered air to enter, thus preventing dust from accumulating inside the computer. This protects the sensitive internal components from overheating. Maintaining the filter system is easy as changing the filter requires no tools.

CEF-2x can easily be customised to meet the specific requirements of the customer. There are several processor choices — from Intel Celeron all the way to Intel Core 2 Quad with its four processing cores. The choice of four PCI and one ISA slot or alternatively four PCI-E x1 and one PCI-E x16 slot ensures that the device will meet the needs of different customers. The energy efficient CEF-2x has power consumption of 75—160 W depending on the assembly solution, which is up to half the power consumption of a normal office PC.
